Depends what you do with your MBA. It was worth it for me many times over.

Go to a recognized school if at all possible. At least go to the school with the biggest name recognition in your area. I got mine from a smaller school and it was hard to get a job, even while I'm reading about MBAs who are entertaining multiple job offers. The Fortune 500s were just not interested in my application with one exception. I eventually took a 'lesser' job to get some hands-on experience then started moving up the career chain. If I had earned an MBA from a larger school, I might have been able to start as a business analyst or something like that right off.

Be aware that the degree is not as 'in vogue' now as it was in the late 90s, though it is gaining in popularity again. Ultimately, you should have some other experience to back up your degree. If you know IT, get an MBA with a focus in IS. If you have had a job in shipping, get a focus in logistics. If you are fluent in a foreign language, focus in international business. If you can somehow tie your degree and your experience together, you'll be better off.

Finally, consider retaking the GMAT. 570 is okay, but not great. Employers may be just as interested in your GMAT score as in your actual degree and GPA. One of my teachers formerly worked for General Mills and he said that was the case with him. I included copies of my GMAT in my resume packet just in case.

Yes, it is worth it. Education is always good. You will have a higher salary with an advaced degree too. However, if you don't have work experience, I would suggest you work first. That way, you can pay off your student loans before starting another school.

Education and knowledge is ALWAYS worth the effort. When one stops learning, one stops growing. Use your current education to support yourself financially; it may take a little time to get where you want to go, but the truth of the matter is, its not about the destination so much as how much fun the ride is.

It's worth it after you have a few years of work experience.
