Try to relax! Also, a warm shower (or a bath if you feel comfortable but make sure water is below 100 degrees and limit time) might help ease the muscles. Other things are heating pads (on low for about 10 minutes at a time) and ice packs. You might want to pay for a prenatal massage from a massage therapist, or if your hubby/boyfriend is good try to talk him through a good massage (what feels good, where to rub and everything). Also, try different places to sleep. Towards the end of my first pregnancy, I could only sleep on the couch because our bed KILLED my back. I would also sleep in our lazy boy with a pillow behind me (which helped when the little booger was laying all over my lungs and I couldn't breathe). I hope this helps, I've been there!! Good Luck!

35 weeks...only 5 more to go! You can do it!
When you're big and pregnant (I know, I've been there) even breathing can be uncomfortable. The best thing to do now is just to relax as much as you can. Try not to do anything too strenuous and if the pain is really bad, pop a couple of Tylenol. But really, at this point, back pain is par for the course and you just have to ride it out until that precious baby is in your arms.
Good luck and hang in there!

If you go to a maternity shop they have back support braces that work wonders. I know how you feel because I am going through some of the same things. Your in your 35Th week and I am only in my 22Nd. luck me huh? lol! It is because of the extra weight in the front that is causing the pain in your back which I know that you know already. You can also take some Tylenol before you go to bed or in the day time. I take Tylenol for it before I go to bed and it does help ease some of the discomfort. You can also take a nice warm bath right before you get into the bed especially if you have a jacuzzi tub. I will get into the tub and let the jets run then go right to bed and lay down before the muscles get a change to tighten up. I know that you said that you had a Dr. appt. next week but, you should call his office and tell him and he will tell you how to relieve the pain. Why should you have to suffer for another week?Good luck to you and I hope that you feel better soon.

I would definitely try a chiropractor who works with pregnant women, and a nice massage. You could also try spending some time on your knees, leaning over a chair or footstool while you're just sitting around watching TV. This will help take the pressure off your spine and get the baby to turn if the pain is from the baby facing the wrong way (if he/she is head down, but face up instead of face down). If the baby is face up, his spine is pressing against your spine, which can hurt!
I would NOT use that other women's advice about getting into a super hot tub. It is very dangerous because it raises your body temperature to a very dangerous level for the baby. Working in the hospital with women in labor who use a tub for pain relief, we constantly check the temperature to make sure it is not too hot - like I said, it is VERY dangerous to the baby.
Good luck, and I hope you get some relief soon! If you would like to email me, I can email you the handout I give to clients on babies position and how to get the baby into the best position for birth (and out of the O.P. or face up position!). O.P. babies make labor much harder, and you usually have what people call back labor. Most babies in this position eventually turn during labor or pushing, but some don't. In that case, if you can't push out the baby in the wrong position, a c-section is needed. Try to get that baby to turn around now, and hopefully you can avoid that!

Start doing pelvic rocking several times per day, especially before bed.
Consider seeing a chiropractor and/or a massage therapist. These appointments will help you to avoid many of the aches and pains of pregnancy and will also help get your body in balance, making labor easier.

My back pain was from my baby pushing on my spine, so what i did was lay in any empty bathtub, turn the water on warm and as the tub would fill up the water would rise and my baby hated the warm water and would move up off my spine to try and get away from the water. It worked every time i did it which near the end was almost everyday if not twice a day.

If you are on now, get off and see a doctor. You might be in the first stages of labor. Good luck and be safe!

Go to a chiropractor. Call and make sure they are qualified to work with pregnant women. I went to one with my last pregnancy and she was great. I felt so much better.
You could also go for a massage.
Think I'd do both!
