It's really difficult for someone to say for sure that they are reading between the lines, because it depends on many factors. The biggest factor I'd say is past experiences. Even psychologists misinterpret some things! Although there are many times where there indeed no lines as you say, and people think that there's something there. Personally I believe it depends on the situation. Some times I can read between the lines, other times there are no lines and yet mistakenly I think there are.

Yep. My perception of things is higher than most people's. That's why when I see a person I can see even the details of their personality and I can tell the nature of a situation.
