and dont listen to the person above. Most ISP's don't record sites you visit. I know mine don't.
CCleaner is the best tho.

For you to do this manually it isa very long process. You will also have to get into your BIOS and unless you know what you are doing, don't do that! (KEEP OUT).
There is some software out there that will do this for you and save you lots of workmand maybe your computer as well if youmake a mistale.
Below is a link to look into.
http://www.proxyway.com/www/internet-cleaner.html
Maybe the next thing you may want to do is do a search on the Internet for others. Try www.google.com and enter free internet track eracer software free
There is a bunch out there to choose from and it would pay you to search around.
Bottom line however is, no mater what you use you can dot deleate your tracks. All you will be doing is hiding them from others to see. All the places that you do visit are permently stoored on your hard drive. You will most likely get many answers relating to your question, but be very careful. Keep min mind, like the saying goes, (You can always run, but you can't hide). This holds true to tour hard drive.
Good luck....

delete the individual site on your history, don't just delete the entire day because it still remains in the other records. Then check each history category (view by date, site, order visited etc) then go onto tools, internet options and delete your temporary internet files. If you saved any ehhh art make sure you delete it, check the recent documents under the start menu too that sometimes has some interesting goodies. Anyways if you're doing what i think you are your gunna wanna go on the start menu, click all programs, run up to accesories, system tools, disk cleanup. That will show you all the images that your computer has temporarily saved, make sure you delete them and check the recycle bin for any remnants.

You can't. If you melt the computer down into a coffee table ornament the sites and the ISP will still have records of where you've been.

Go to http://www.ccleaner.com and download the latest version of the program. It is called "Crap Cleaner" (yes, you read that correctly), and when you run it, it will clear your internet history, among other helpful things (i.e. you docs history in office, temp files, etc.) It's a great program - I've been using it for years.
