Most people work and earn money and pay bills and then they may or may not have a savings account. You only get wealthy by developing passive income and having smart investments that increase over time.
Start developing a plan for passive income - An income stream falling into this category is one where money is received usually on a regular basis, without continuing effort. This does not mean no effort at all; most passive income streams require great effort to start with.
Some Examples of passive income:
Interest Income paid from bank deposits.
Rental income from real estate/property.
Royalties from writing a book.
Dividends from shares holding.
Selling digital files like software / ebooks or scripts on an automated web site.
I only like 2 investments - gold and real estate. I stay away from the stock market but mutual funds are okay I guess, if you must have money in the market. Unless you have a good broker or lots of time to study the market - it is not a good place to park money. To me, the stock market is just a form of legalized gambling. BUT this is my opinion only - you should do your own research.
I like gold coins because you can buy small gold coins and build your collection slowly. Always get coins that are valued on the open market such as the American Eagle, etc.
I also like real estate. I prefer the kind that you flip rather than have alot of tennants and headaches. "Knowledge is power!"
Nothing beats knowledge.. time helps, savings help, but the most powerful element that never can be denied time and time again is knowledge. The know how to earn money and invest money.
For anyone thinking of lottery winners.. how many people won the lottery to later become bankrupt?
I am telling you fair and square nothing equals the power of knowledge. The knowledge to grow your wealth and not lose it all to some silver tongued huckster!
I wish I could tell the whole world population this.. no most would not care.. they enjoy smothering in their abject poverty...

Your physical and mental health is your greatest source of wealth. As long as you can stay healthy, you have the vitality to do what it takes to be as wealthy as you want to be. Even if you lost all your money tomorrow, if you are healthy you can get it back.
