Thank you all so so much for my replie. I went doctors and he is sending me for another scan just to reassure me but had also said it is very common and "normal" for brown spotting to happen and doesnt think it is anything to worry about. You have made me feel much more relaxed and also doctor too. Just have to wait for hospital to ring me now for scan, Thanks ever so much to you all xxxxx

I also bled in my last pregnancy, but when telling my specialist, he said i had nothing to worry about, the baby was fine. But advised me if i was cramping as well as bleeding next time, to go to the emergency dept. The brown discharge you're talking about is old blood... but if you can easily say that you're able to soak a sanitary pad through when it's bright red, then don't hesitate to see someone straight away.

I've heard that it isn't uncommon to bleed at one stage or another. So long as you're not in pain.

I hope everything turns out ok for you and bubs.
Best of luck.

Brown spotting indicates old blood, not new. This recent spotting could well be what’s left over from the blood loss you had before, but whatever it is it's only spotting. Bright red (fresh) blood & much more than spotting would give rise to concern, but not always does that mean that you’re going to lose your Baby.
I'm sure everything is fine, especially as a scan has already shown that all is well. Try to relax until your appointment this afternoon. There's nothing to be gained by you getting yourself all worked up & stressed out. Once a pregnancy has formed then unless something extremely serious is taking place (which I doubt very much in this case) it's not something that easily just self aborts. Sorry for the miscarriage you’ve already had to suffer, when something like that occurs it’s only natural that….that becomes your biggest fear the next time a pregnancy occurs. I’m sure all will go well this time, having had one mis-carriage or even more…doesn’t mean you can assume another will take place. I wish you well for your Baby & yourself.
Happy New Year Honey. x
Good luck at your appointment this afternoon by the way.

brown spotting is usually an okay sign because it's old blood. You body could just be expelling waste or it could be left over blood and whatnot from the earlier spotting. I spotted very heavy during my first trimester this pregnancy and I called the doctor crying my eyes out. When I was explaining it to her, thats when she said the brownish blood was usually okay. But I would definatly talk to your doctor today. They will do a vaginal exam, check heart rate with the doppler and probably draw some blood to check HGC levels. Now, you could be in a different "catagory" since you have had a previous miscarriage (which I am SO sorry for) and I had never experienced one. Relax though, if it's going to happen (sorry to say sweetie) nothing you can do, but stressing this much during a healthy pregnancy can cause problems. Relax and God Bless! You'll be in my thoughts today!! Good Luck!

I had some bleeding when I was pregnant too and the doctor said that the only time that I needed to worry was when it was bright red or heavy. He said that a little dark spotting was okay. So it sounds like you have handled the situation correctly. But go ahead and tell your doctor about it today just to be safe

i think you will be fine, i spotted during my first pregnancy. If you were fine when you had heavy bleeding you should be fine now. Have the doctor explain to you why this is happening it may ease your mind. good luck to you and your unborn. Pregnancy can be very exciting and nerve racking at the same time. I wish you the best.

I had spotting too with both pregnancies and all went well. If it becomes heavy or bright red then see someone straight away. If you are concerned about your current spotting then ask your midwife, it always best to ask the experts to check it out if you are concerned, there is no harm in checking things out :-) Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy :-)

The brown spotting is possibly the old blood from your last bleed making it's way out - this happens from time to time.
How did the appointment go?
