Setup static ip addressing in the routers settings via private address.. Then in windows for tcp/ip properties check for static ip and put in your address. Why are you using a static ip? Your ISP (if your using DSL or cable) sends out a lease for your ip address, which needs to be renewed every once in a while. So if you set your router as a static ip, then you will have to be changing it pretty often. You can still use a dynamic IP and port forwarding.. DHCP is your friend..

Your ISP will assign the static IP address.

Your router's docs will tell you how to set that static IP address, as well as how to do port forwarding. The docs for BitLord will tell you what port(s) to forward.

port forwarding is slightly complicated. set up port forwarding on your router shall we are saying port 8081 and factor it to a working laptop or workstation on your community. then on that workstation you specify the same ip handle which you unique once you positioned up port forwarding interior the router config. once you opt to connect with that workstation from exterior your router you type interior the ip handle of your ROUTER:8081. your router then forwards the request to the ip you unique interior the router setup above. in case you have someway locked your self out of your router setup, you may would desire to do a stressful reset on the router to get it back to unique config.
