I was a young idealistic democrat at the time. I worked against Richard Nixon who I later came to admire, and worked very long and hard for Jimmy Carter.

I always respected Gerald Ford as a person and our President. He was always the right man, in the right position, at the right time in our nations history.

I admire and respect that he put compassion, kindness, and all our citizens above his personal interest. He was a man of Honor without question or doubt.

From a Buckeye Fan! God Bless Gerald R Ford.

Actually I think Ford was liked and respected by the Democrats.
President Ford was the last of the more traditional Republicans, more middle of the road. I am glad he has led a good long life, They say even privately, he was a moral man.
They also say he never really wanted to be president

When Gerald Ford became the puppet president, the Neocons established themselves in the high end of the Republican party and were only marginally controlled by Bush 1, even though they were in control of most aspects of that administration. They had to wait for another "Puppet" president (Bush 2) before they could exercise full control and drag our nation into the cesspool we find ourselves wallowing in today.

Well I was just a child when he was President and he was not President that long, so to answer that question, he was OK. I never really heard anything bad about the man. I was sad to hear that he passed and sympathy to his family

I was always a big fan, he was a calm leader in a terrible time in the country, didn't attempt to change the world when we were in no position to do that.

Well, he just stepped in and took over where Nixon left off...he wasn't as crazy as Nixon, but he took up his policies and it was business as usual. Other than being a puppet president, there was nothing special about him.
