There's a new service launching in 2007 called SpiralFrog (www.spiralfrog.com) that will offer ad supported free and legal downloads, won't require a credit card, and won't expose your computer to any potential viruses that P2P site normally do. They're WMA files however....so they're not iPod compatible.

Buy a gift card. From any bank. Giftcards are just like credit cards on the internet, I use them for internet purchases all the time.

as mentioned above... but a better way is to acquire a credit card. very easy. go to Fred Myers (they're more or less national), ask for prepaid card. or you can get an internet card, paypal has them. these are prepaid so no risk to your credit (and no qualifying). in this way you can join a legitimate service and have much less worry about viruses, etc.
