Seeing his performance in the second test I wonder myself as to why he is not sent back with pathan. I also wonder why munaf patel was not included in the eleven.

After bowlers won the first test, team realised they can do without pathan but replacing a batsman at this time when runs are precious, will be stupid. And India dont have a replacement for opening batsman yet. But Shewag can be packing the bags soon if he continues this way.

Since India do not have much option for the opening pair, they are persisting with Shewag hoping that he will come good. Since Gautam Gambhir has not got used to the condition at South Africa, Team Management do not want to take a risk of playing him. However, since sufficient opportunities have already been given to Shewag to regain his form if he does not perform well in he 2nd innings he may also be sent back and Gautam Gambhir may play in the next test, which I feel they should do..
