Ukraine is not in the EU yet, but is sure to be in a few years. That would be to the benefit of both Ukraine and the EU.

It's in Europe but it's not part of the European Union. The government is trying to comply with the requirements to be taking in the EU though. But recently the European Commission said that there wouldn't be new members for a few years (because they have to make it work with the new additions, first.)
