Different persons are born into different situations. Therefore, in a "perfect world" there should be no direct relationship between class and legitimacy. However, we all know from experience that higher class usually results in greater legitimacy.

It would be so much easier for us if you would explain a bit more what you mean by legitimacy? Are you referring to pregnancies?
Do you want to know if there is a relationship between women's class and being mothers to illegitimate children? If you relly need help re-write your question and post it again.

Do you mean as opposed to "illegitimacy" when it comes to babies born to unwed parents?

I believe there is a higher incidence of babies born to people of lower incomes because very often the girls of low-income families tend not to plan to go to college and instead just take it for granted that they (and their friends and family) will have babies early and out of wedlock.
