Butter ? As in, Clover ?
No, she didn't. But then she was very stingey. Wouldn't give me plasters -''Becky, let the air heal it.''
Maybe that's why I like plasters so much now?

she would sit me on the old electric cooker the one with the snake rings on top ant the grill at head hight and smother it with butter witch I would promptly go and find the dog (big colly x GSD) at my 6 years old his head was sholder hight and let him lick it all off again i think that felt better then having mum apply the butter

"butter on your bumps"......that and "mum" makes you so incredibly British it hurts my heart to see. LOL. Why don't you give mommy a call? Or if she is in a better place, go pay your respects to her.... It will make you feel better.

You could try vinegar and brown paper, Chick. Or I have some arnica and witch hazel horse liniment (it worked quite well on my busted ankle!)...

Yep, and it worked, or at least it did for us kids at the time, maybe because it had TLC in it
