Transferred 5GB video, but it won't allow any more. Why?

Format your new drive, then try it again. If that doesn't work, go take it back and either get your money back, or exchange it.

go to my computer. then right click the external drive and click properties. you should be able to see the capacity. if it shows 150-160gb capacity and you still can't transfer files after format, then it's corrupted. if it shows 5gb capacity, then it's a factory defect. either way, you should have no problem getting a new drive or a full refund if you still have the receipt.

OK... Listen Here! What you are doing is too much! You need to transfer 5GB of movies, reboot, 5GB movies, reboot, etc... The rebooting refreshes the memory and reset it... kind of!

Check if ur new Hard drive is filled
If its not so, then Check whether You've installed the "USB Drive 2.0" software
and then Your RAM configuration should be high. upgrade to 1GB(use two 512MB).

Make sure the drive isn't formatted FAT16 for some reason. Delete all partitions and reformat FAT32 on one partition.

not enough memory. buy more ram i dont know what is going on with your pc do you meen not enough free space on the external hard drive

well the problem is peculair,
format your drive ( new drive ) and do it again.
i know you would have done it, while doing partition. but do it again.
and also check your hardisk status using partion magic. you can get the trial version from the link below.....
