She is 4 years old and she had a G-tube for 3 years. Some surgeons told me to let the hole close by itself no matter how long it takes. I am really worry she can get any infection and I don´t know how complicated can be the surgery. I am in overseas and if I have to do the surgery I want to go to the United States because she got the G-tube in Denver. Does someone knowns a Doctor in Miami ? Thanks for your advice

Cool down... I myself have undergone a surgery where such a whole existed. It was 6 years back & in my case also doctor had told me that it will heal on it's own.It took 6 months but now there is not even a mark of it.Still if you want, you can talk to some other doctor if you are going to be at peace by that.Wish you all the best..(-:

you should make sure its kept clean and dry and place a dressing over it to keep out any infections. these things can take a while to close up as the tube had been in there for 3 years. I 'd listen to your doctor and keep a close eye out for any infection, redness or your daughter develping a temperature.

I agree with the doctor and give it some time....If not healed in three months, then return to doctor......the surgery will be very easy. They simply cut around the hole, creating raw edges, then suture it together.....20 minutes at the most....any doctor can perform it, not just American doctors.......I'm glad she can start ingesting food.....she must have been a really sick little girl...Get her a balloon to make her feel better.....

I guess it depends on the area you are in and the risk of infection, I would be concerned if its still gaping and would want the surgery, it cant be that difficult to suture the hole.

You need to seek medical attention for your daughter immediately. I sincerely hope you are not in a country that considers this abuse as it does not sound like you did it to hurt her. I am not even sure where to start - toxicity, infection, stomach acid in the abdominal cavity - I could go on, but I won't. Please get her to a doctor ASAP

Consider the fact that the hole was open for 3 years. It will take some time to heal.It should be starting to heal though.if your daughter is diabetic she will heal slowly.Keep the area clean.
