No, and for two very different reasons, thus:
1. I am a writer. Words are my tools. And if people misuse words then they're messing up my toolbox.
2. This applies to just about everyone: we all have to interact with computer keyboards. And if we misspell a word, or use a comma when it should have been a dot, the computer is completely unforgiving - it won't return the results you want, and unlike a human being it won't be able to guess what you really meant or give you a clue.
Them's me sentiments, and nobody's ever accused me of being anal-retentive.

Correct spelling is important to people who have bothered to learn how to spell in the first place.
If you've never given a damn about it, it won't matter to you now.
No-one is perfect but, it doesn't hurt to make a bit of an effort.
Incorrect grammar can give completely different meaning to a sentence.
