No you don't.

Many Federal member's do not live in their electorates.

Do you really think Paul Keating ever lived in the Western Suburbs !!!

Legally, no. Just the same as the U.K., you can stand for any seat that you feel like so long as you are legally qualified.
In terms of the requirements of the two major parties, then it would be up to their rules to stipulate that an aspiring candidate must live in the electorate for which they wished to stand if they wanted party endorsement.
No political party in Australia (that I know of anyway) has this requirement.
