how to handle this question "can a word be sharp as a knife " in what proper way?.. for..who?when?how?where?why?

yes word can be sharp like knife...well like saying someone fat or ugly directly to a person and saying it where there people around that can surely hurt someone feeling so deep.....*

yes.. a word can be sharp as a knife.. in a way that it could cut a person's heart when you say something that is really offending.. emotional things are much more hurtful than physical ones.. a person who is emotionally hurt may have a hard time to heal the wound in their hearts than a wound in the flesh..

"As sharp as a knife" is a metaphor. It is comparing the cutting, damaging effect that a knife can have, to the cutting damaging effect that words can have.

Example: "You may not physically hurt me, but your unkind words can be as sharp as a knife."
