If your favorite celebrity was gay? Would it change how you see them or their work?

No, it would not change the way I saw them NOW. That's because, after 24 years of bad dates and a failed marriage, our own daughter realized she was a lesbian. She is a wonderfully intelligent, sweet, caring person. No matter what you think about gay people, or what jokes you have laughed over, or what position you have taken on whether they were born that way or chose it, when the child you love dearly, calmly tells you she finally realized she is gay, you do a 180* turnaround so fast you get whiplash! You look back at their childhood and see the different signs you missed so clearly now. Then you know that gay people are just people like anyone else, except they have to face unfair discrimination and that there are people who call themselves Christians yet think your child is actually going to HELL for it! Those people just don't KNOW yet. But that really starts to hurt deeply, once you have had your "awakening".

I have lots of favourites and some are gay! It would be hard to accept the hetero love scenes which is why a lot stay in the closet. Would poor old Rock Hudson have had a career if he came out.
I know things are different now but I still think the parts being offered to openly gay actors must be diminished...
By the way many gays ARE Christians - shock/horror!

I was heartbroken and cried non-stop for 1 whole week when I found out that Rupert Everrett was gay.

No, I wouldn't care. People are who they are. It wouldn't change how I would see them or their work.

i'd be surprised, but i wouldn't stop being a fan. their work is what made me a fan to begin with, and their sexuality wouldn't change their work!

I would be upset, because then I wouldn't have a chance w/ him... ;) But their/his work would still be what I fall asleep to every night.
