According to ancient mayan beliefs , our world as we know it will come to an end by the date above. I cant find myself to believe such nonsense, but when u take a really good look around,u have to think, can the planet really take us for another 100 years? or let alone 10? pollution is a main threat, but mass starvation is on the way aswell as violent weather patterns that are now just starting to occur. itsa scary thought, but am i the only one seeing such jurastic events occuring in sucha hurry? ex. tsunamis, record breaking earthquakes, more powerful hurricanes, and it seems to get worse every year..

Crazy people have been claiming the world will end since the dawn of intelligence. Just recently when Y2K came, remember how the world was going to come to a crashing halt and chaos and mayhem would rule then............nothing. There's religious prophets predicting the end of the world with what is going on in the Middle East, but when is there nothing going on in the Middle East?
I think the world will be around for as long as our sun shines. Humans may not be on it, but it will be there.

The World really gona end one day.. but not exactly on 2012..
At that time people start to live outside the world.. If u want our world to live for some more years stop giving troubles to nature.. dont kill nature.. stop digging lands for search of gold, precious stones,coals,etc.. Do u think if u can stop this.. if yes one person started to save our world ..else pack up your bags and leave this world.. find a new home on space..

BYE..
See u in space..

Hello =)

Just because the Mayans didn't see fit to extend their calendar any further, doesn't mean the world is going to end...

Did you ever buy one of those "perpetual calendars" only to find that it was only good for like 6 years or so?? Well, it's rather like that....they just didn't figure it was worthwhile figuring it out for any date past 2012, and if they needed to, they could always update it, and make a new calendar..

Unfortunately, extinction kinda prohibits that.

I'm going to die in 2022, so the world ending before that will be an impossibility.

Namaste, and Happy Holidays,

--Tom

Hmm let's see, take a prediction from a old culture that practiced ritual human sacrifice to make sure the sun rose the next day....seriously. However interesting Mayan culture was , this doesn't make them all knowing or all seeing of the worlds future.

The Mayans are the last people to believe about the future. How could they know the world was going to end in 2012 and not know that they themselves were going to face destruction by the Spanish?

If they would have known, don't you think they would have took measures to prevent it? If they didn't know their own future, they certainly couldn't know ours.

The world will end when God is ready and only he knows when that will be. -Don't sweat it, OK?

what is not in humans power to do to save this world, let's leave it in God's hands to solve it. When the time comes, it will be, not before or after...

pretty good prediction. I would believe it was accurate apart from the fact that it impossible to know. In another hundred years we might all be tending our little bonsai trees in glass bubbles, being fed water air and food from three pipes supplied by the corporation.

Why is everyone so anxious for the world to end? It ends when God wants it to end, not a millisecond sooner.
