can anyone recommend a good natural slug/snail repellent?

salt is very good but only last a long as the first rain, and dependant upon how much you use you can kill your garden,try sealant,and crushed egg shells does the same job and lasts alot longer,first apply the sealant make it around 1 inch wide then,push the egg shells into it,around your tubs you could use a grease bar,also check your tubs every year,take out and check roots this will encourage root growth, just under the soil lay wiremesh cut the size of your pot,it will take a couple of seasons of hard work but you will reap the benefits in the end,we have carpet grips these are handy as well for walls or fences coming from your next door garden/ if you encourage birds into your garden,this will help as well,or a hedge hog family,leave a place for frogs under logs (he he) this will help too,dont use things like slug pellets this will kill other animals,and turn over your garden every winter as this will also kill them,they live up to six inches in the ground,and make sure everything in the garden is cleaned at the end of the season which will cut down on the places to breed,did try seaweed one year and,tho it worked it only lasted about a week,but again you can if you use too much change the ph of the soil,but good for compost, leave a place in your garden for nettles,the love these as well,and can in some instances help protect you plants,but only when it works with other methods,dont throw them out of your garden cos they will come back quicker than you think,just drop them in beer,then get rid of in your rubbish.

Dig a shallow hole in your garden, just deep enough to hold a large jar cap or pie tin. Fill the tin/cap with beer. Slugs love to party, and really don't care about the type of beer they drink.

The sharp edges of these dead sea creatures rip a snail/slug to bits...

It's a little expensive, so you only ring your plants with it..

salt. it works like a charm. you just put it on the snail and in like 3 minutes its dead. yeah. its totally organic and cheap. ;)
