I recently gave my 8 year old Maruti 800 for service at Bosch Service Centre. He said the gears are slipping and the clutch needs to and overhaul and fly wheel needs to be replaced. However I'm happy about my clutch and gear shift is smooth. My car has done about 37000 kms. Any idea of how good 'Bosch Car Service is'?

Your only question should be, "why not drive it until the clutch doesn't work anymore"? Will it hurt the car or cost more to repair by waiting until the clutch totally fails?
Answer: There's really no disadvantage in just waiting until the clutch actually slips so bad that you have to get it replaced. Also, some clutches are adjustable if the pedal isn't engaging close to the floorboard as it should.

A clutch should last more then 37000 KM unless it has been driven by unexperienced drivers or you slip it way too much. The Flywheel needing to be replaced it must have taken way too much abuse!!!

A service center or garage is only as good as the shop foreman and the mechanics.

Your Maruti 800 sure seems to need a lot of repairs for only 37000 KM.

The easiest way to tell if your clutch is bad is to get on the highway and when you get to second gear got from there to high gear and stomp on the gas pedal if the engine races then your clutch is bad if the motor dogs out or bogs down then the clutch is fine.
