His second game in a Nuggets jersey he dominated and carried a completely depleted Nuggets team to victory by scoring 28 points, 13 assists, and 4 steals. In his 2 games with Denver he already has 23 assists. He isnt even playing with their other top 3 players, Carmelo, Camby, and JR Smith are all out right now.

In my opinion this team will contend for the West, AI has already proven that he can pass the ball as well as ANYONE in this league and that he doesnt mind dishing the ball off as long as his teammates take care of business. I know on ESPN they are saying that they are still around the 5th best team in the West and even still thats the 5th best team overall in the league...anyone else think they have a shot to contend?

Im just a huge AI fan in general and ive watched him for years playing with a HORRIBLE and pathetic team, im excited to watch him with the Nuggets and I know what he brings to the table...and I think with time he could bring home a ring....

Hey william...Iverson does not shoot to low of a % to win a championship, ive seen feature players shoot the same if not lower percentages and still win the champ. Wade did it last year. Iverson had to shoot bad shots in Philly b/c he was their only chance, still he shot around 45%.

Also, they do not have 2 ppl who like to have the ball...Carmelo has never had to have the ball in his hands, Andre Miller touched the ball longer than Melo did, Melo shoots quickly and he likes to move without the ball, again he has never had to have the ball in his hand. And if i want the ball in ANYONES hand in the nba its AI's.

Iverson is an all time great, and they can make some serious noise in the playoffs this year if it comes together. I say this will mostly depend on Carmelo, how he will adjust, especially since he's having a breakout season before the suspension.
I think it will work out good for both players.

denver can use Iverson right now with everyone out. He should be able to have higher assists on this team. I agree though with Steve Kerr he shoots to low a percentage to win a championship as a feature scorer he should be able to raise his percentage 5% by scoring around mid to low twentys a game. I am interested to see how he and Marcus Camby do together. I rememeber watching them duel and Marcus actually win in a college NCCA Tournament back in the 90s. UMass beat Gerorgetown both Marcus and Allen had the same number of jerseys. I cant remember which number it was can anybody help me out.

Hilaro is really doing well and the power forward position also has replaced Kenyan Martin. The key is for Iverson to get more assist and take less shots which is actually hard. Because many guards get assists holding the ball alot and forcing the defense to play the shot first opening the passing lane this team needs help moving the ball around instead your going have two guys that want to hold the ball the majority of the time and dribble alot. It is not easy to get high assists without taking lots of shots John Stockton did it. Because players like defense to over play them before they pass alot this requires holding the ball alot with dribbles to do it with out that you must be having your eyes on the court which is hard. You must see everything and when other players know your looking they make moves to get open. When they see the ball holes like Iverson or Anthony they tend to stand and watch. So thats the key to title hopes Iverson runs the show and takes better shots and less of them while increasing his assists. He should be able to avg that classical number 20 pts 10 assists and two steals on this team if he plays right. Seeing the court however is a gift far less abundant as high scoring players its too hard to do..

They can definitely contend but only if Iverson and Carmelo get along. At first I thought this was a horrible deal for denver, but then when my little bro brough to my attention Iversons assist number in games where he played with other talent (all star and international games) and now that he has already had i beleive 24 assists in two games, I think they can get along fine because Carmelo showed while he was at syracuse (where im from watched him play) that he can balance being the star of the show and working with other good players (Gerry MacNamera and Hakim Warrick) So yea, Idk about winning it all but they will definintely be a playoff team with a chance to contend the one concern I still have is big man play, Im a nets fan so Ive seen how Kenyon Martin can become a non factor especially defensively, at the worst time, and Idk how well Nene plays defense, my concern is them matched up again the likes of Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki Yao and Tim Duncan
