Love these questions :)

Using the dictionary definition of "production", the fastest motorcycle is still the BUB Seven coming in at an official average speed of 350.884 MPH.

Again, with the dictionary definition of "production", the worlds fastest street motorcycle is the Hayabusa at an official speed of 258.131 MPH. The Hayabusa currently holds seven of the top ten slots for the fastest opened wheeled motorcycles.

If you use the implied definition of a motorcycle that's created on an assembly line and not a custom or a bike built with parts intended for other vehicles (like the jet bike or boss hoss), or art projects (like the tomahawk), the fastest street motorcycle is still the 1999-2000 Hayabusa at 206 MPH. This is due to the gentleman's agreement between the major bike companies to artificially limit the bikes to 300KPH or about 186MPH. On a Suzuki this can be gotten around by purchasing a $35 TRE. On the Ninja ZX12, modifying the tach will bypass this restriction.

If you want to refine your definition to the current year (2006), the new Ninja ZX14 just beats the Hayabusa by a hair.

I believe that Kawasaki's replacement of the Ninja 1200, which was reputedly the world's most powerful bike, is up now to 1400cc and is supposedly faster than the Hyabusa. But there will be a new Suzuki (if there isn't one already!) which just goes to prove we are living in the Golden Age of motorcycling!

The MTT Turbine super-bike is.

This production bike was clocked at 227 MPH which would run circles around the rice burner.

At $150,000 USD, you don't see very many of them.

Powered by a 502 cubic inch, 502 horsepower big block Chevy.
You don't see many of these as they go for about $55,000 USD
