sounds like your PRV (pressure relief valve) is sticking open... try tapping on the valve it may cause it to close again

Is the water coming out of the header tank overflow first just check that you dont have a leaky ball valve on the tank replacement washers only cost a few pence to replace if that is not the case and the boiler is used for heating the hot water tank as well then you could have a leak in the coil inside the hot water cylinder with this type of leak water can be drawn from the cylinder into the heating system and back out into the header tank

another cause of a overflow is if your heating system water pump is set to high it should have 3 settings if it is on 3 or 2 try turning it down one setting.

Just some ideas i know of that causes this type of leak hopes they help

Sounds like the ball valve in the header tank has failed. There are a number of possible reasons. The ball may have sprung a leak, the washer may have worn out or it may have seized up.

For a temporary solution, tie up the arm of the ball valve so the header tank stops filling, then take out a bucketful of water. You will need to fit a new ball valve in the next couple of weeks. It's not a difficult job if you're familiar with basic plumbing, but it can wait until a plumber is available.

Is the water oerflowing from the boiler or from a water tank in the attic. If it is coming out of the boiler, then you have ovrfilled the system, and have to drain water out until it is down to !/1/2 Bar. If it is the tank in the attic, then the ball valve is faulty and wants replacing.

It is the overflow valve that is faulty if the pressure does not go above 2bar or more. You can get a plumber to change it for you. I bought one a couple of months ago and it only cost £26.00. Our system is fine now.
