J.R was shot by Kristen Shepard played by Mary Crosby, and when J.R was going to have her arrested he announced she was carrying his illegitimate child.
This episode was one of the biggest most talked about episodes of the 80's and even went as far as having the episodes brought into the UK under Police and security protection from the states so no-one would would know before it was aired
