If so what is your favorite time period? I like watching when they talk about people from the early 1900's or earlier. I learned alot about one woman, Marjorie Merriweather Post. I was totally fascinated watching that episode. Last night I watched about the Rockefellers. Pretty interesting.

I do like Biography and like you when they do from earlier times is the best. I don't like when they do current movie stars they are just too boring.

I also like the episodes about historical figures. I once saw one about Queen Elizabeth I. I think it was the one that went furthest back in history that I've seen. Living in the United States, we are required to learn US history but not world history. Often times I feel like I've missed out. What I like about Biography is that they present the stories of these people in a way that is both entertaining and factual. You can get the facts in history books, but many are dry and more than a little boring. While movies can be fun, historical accuracy is too often sacrificed for entertainment value. Biography gives the best of both.

P.S.- I had a subscription to the Biography magazine a few years back...do they still publish that?

I prefer biographies about people who are no longer living. If the subject is still alive, they have veto power over which individuals are interviewed about them.
