The Islamic Courts at least brought some form of law and order, while warlords were ruling Somalia for 15 years and killing people. Now that there is law and order, the world sees it a threat.

I do not know too much about the situation in Somalia, because I have been getting my news about it online. It would be nice to talk to some Somalians about the situation.

In any case, I also wonder why it is such a "threat" for Somalia to have order, and to finally have hope of a unified government after more than a decade of relative anarchy. It is difficult to imagine the "interim government" in Baidoa as ever being seen as legitimate.

I certainly hope the people of Somalia can have stability and a valid government fairly soon.

I also wonder why there does not seem to be much objection to the attack on Somalia by Ethiopia's army and air force.

You are so right and so well informed.

The Islamic Cleric Courts have brought order to Somalia and everyone is 'sleeping peacefully' (six feet under that is).

The Warlords have been gone for quite some time now.
the Real Government is less than two years and these self-styled 'Islamic Leaders' have decided that they want someone else to be in charge, regardless of what the Somali people say.

You have already forgotten that this very same court put out a Fatwa preventing anyone in Somalia from watching the World Cup Soccer Match. This very same court sanctioned Islamic Extremist terrorists to go on a shooting rampage in cinemas and sidewalk cafes that left many wounded and/or dead.

All because they wanted to watch the World cup Soccer Match.
What a 'Crime against Islam'......

Well seeing as how the kind of order they were bringing was the order needed to recruit and train terrorist for there ever expanding war on the West yes they saw a threat. The warlords were only a threat to the people of Somalia not the world at large and sadly the world at large has gotten to the point that not only is it unwilling to end chaos and anarchy in a country were people are living in fear and dying in mass numbers (Sudan, Iraq, Somalia) they condemn those who try and call THEM murderers. It has become some how evil to stop evil from happening to innocent people because in stopping it some of those innocents will die. Sick world but, hey, that's the world as seen through the U.N.

I agree with Dark. But one needs to know and realize that more then half of the U.N. is made up of terrorist and communist or socialist nations who don't give a damn so to speak and there's no way to really stop them. We the USA that is need to pull out of the U.N. and make them relocate some where off of U.S. soil. As far as Somolia goes we do need to do what we can to stop these drug lords and infadels from killing thousands, stealing the aid food and supplies and from raping women and children. Yes some thing like Clinton failed to do that got the movie black hawk down made. Had we gone in there with more fire and man power we'd have won and less lives would have been lost. I hope we put another right winger in the white house in 08 why? Because dems only empower the terrorist and turn a blind eye to what they're doing in our own country.

The black voting block will make this target impossible to engage. Politicians dont want to give up their jobs just to do the right thing.
