Avoid TalkTalk (there have been loads of reported problems with them not providing any internet connection at all), NTL also known as Cable and Wireless, as they are really sporadic and their customer services leave a lot to be desired. BT home hub is allegedly having problems too - it was on Watchdog. Sorry I can't tell you who do provide a reliable service - I'd be interested to hear other's opinions!

If you go for option 1 with BT, it will cost you as little as £9.95 per month for the first 6 months and £17.99 per month thereafter. There are cheaper ones, but I find BT more reliable.
