Not so much weird, but I had a car that was older than me, with no heater, when I lived in the hills. It'd get cold driving at night and the windows would always fog up (no heater = no demister). I had a chamois on the passenger seat and would always be wiping the window whilst weaving through the tight bends en route home.

I have tried to get a bee out of my car. That was scary and weird because my passenger was allergic to stings. Her panic made me panic. But the kinds of things you mentioned are not weird, they are foolsh. I KNOW it could happen to me and that is why I don't engage in those kinds of activities. People don't take driving seriously enough and they think it is their godgiven right to drive, hence the articles you see day after day after day in the paper. It is ridiculous.
