I have my "big" scan this Friday and am really looking forward to it! Wot actually happens? What do they look for and what do they tell you?? How acurate are they when they tell you the sex of the baby?

They also did my glucose test about this time. If they decide to do this to you, they'll draw blood (to test the sugar level before), then give you some (nasty) sugar water to drink, and you'll have to have your finger pricked an hour later to test for sugar content again. If they have you do this, be prepared, the water is like trying to drink syrup.

they are 80% accurate with the sex of the baby. but be prepeared for if they cannot tell you. they will measure the baby, look for abnormalities, in aus we have a 3d and 4d scan. you can see the hwol babies face and everything. they will make the baby bend its back, to make sure everything is alright.
