I know that when baseball first started in was only in the USA and hence it was called the world series knowingly because all the best baseball players in the world played in the MLB hence the USA could beat any other country in the world and it was believed that they were the best, but now that alot of the players are hispanic and others from diffrent countries (Japan for instance) and with the emergence of the Baseball Classic Competion (Which should be regarded as the 'real' World Series) why do they still call it the World Series? Thats like taking Mexico's Soccer league and whatever team wins it having them called the world champions of league soccer, it just doesnt make sense? anymore...

It was originally sponsored by The World newspaper. Besides, most of the people who get exercised about the World Series being the World Series are not baseball fans in any case. If the Mexican soccer league wanted to call their team the world champions, I doubt very many baseball fans would care. The Classic is a worthwhile event, but a one-game elimination tournament is not comparable to the MLB regular season, playoffs and World Series.
