Time is our measurement of the passing moments using the sun and rotations and whatnot. But wouldn't life be better if we just never measured it??

Or how about if we just measured time in days\nights rather than down to the hour, minute, second... Would our lives be better?

"..in all reality it would give us a lessen sence of urgency but i also believe that our economy and social structure is based on urgency. everything today is based on how soon one can get their item, and how little work is involved to get it."
I agree. So the question becomes wouldn't life be better if we started trying to shape society into a less urgent way of life?

i have said this to many a person, for me every one thinks i am 4 years older then i am ( i am 14 ) so i don't get to hang out with people that i relate to, life would be so much better if people would just chill, and stop caring about time so much.

good question. however if we didnt measure by hours/minutes, how would we meet someone at a specific time on a cloudy, rainy day? or what about the days that are shorter and the others that are longer? in all reality it would give us a lessen sence of urgency but i also believe that our economy and social structure is based on urgency. everything today is based on how soon one can get their item, and how little work is involved to get it. so to a degree it would better us, but then again, to a degree our society and economy depend on it.

Well, in my opinion the answer is no. But i felt in you question that you meant the happy moments are passing very quickly and you wish if it were longer .

Time is very important i wont tell you its because god made it like this , but are you sure to be able to know your age?or your girls friend's age? In what age you suppose to be a child, teenager or an adult?? what time you suppose to graduate from high school and when you'll feel old ? What about day& night ,days , weeks, years? if there was know time we wouldn't have recognized all of this and what names of days and so on are for?

Past, present, future how could we know it and too many things depending on them the simplest example is will be no grammer to say past tense or countinous .

I still cant say everything there are too many exampels but if you still cant get it you'd better read more and ask more not to WASTE YOU LIFE TIME want to know what time is and why it is valuable , it is valuable to let you do such the right things in the suitable times but dont harry this is a big fault too , just arrange what you want and when you'll do it .

Zooka.

I don't think so. Having time measured enables us to determine the importance of things - for example, the growing of particular seasonal crops, the tides etc. These are things that important for the continuation of civilisation, and are defined by the timing of nature, not something implemented by humans to determine their happening.

It is also useful to determine the correct medical procedures to takes, based on the amount of time elapsed since the symptoms arose. For example, we know that we have to respond in minutes to a heart attack, and the longer the response is left, the more drastic the consequences.

I dont know about that, but I think we waste time. Maybe if we didnt worry about the time so much we wouldnt be late. And then we would not waste as much time either. but you are right about one thing you cant dictate timing to anyone really, because we are all listening to our own rythm and not easy to march to a different beat. When we are forced to march to a different beat we end up astray and accomplish nothing. Best keep your own time clock and punch in and out on your own.

Life would be relaxed, but what if you wanted to meet a friend of yours, when would you two meet? Or what if you have an exam, when will it be? It's relaxing without measuring time, but chaotic!

now that you say it, time does seem lke the evil causing more stress than anything....

but it always helps to see the brighter side of measuring time and the things associated with it.. the anniversaries, birthdays, historical events etc... its the lifestyle which is to be blamed, and the way we have started 'ruthlessly' using time which needs to be changed, maybe not time itself...

I think you're right, because measuring the time sometimes drive us crazy...So our life would be more relaxed if we didn't measure time.

we'd get confused - there has to be common agreement on time in order to establish a meeting, for example...
