i live in kolkata.n a very special frnd of mine lives in brisbane.i want to send her a letter on her birthday .can u telll me how much will it cost and how to send it?i actually hav never written a letter to anyone....please helpp

im not sure what postage would be...but if you head to your post office they will be able to tell you.....best to send via air mail as it is quicker

Hi, I'm from birsbane and currently living in Orissa. We sent presents to our family for Christmas - we sent them on December 1st and they still haven't arrived yet on December 28th! So it can take about a month. Letters seem to travel more quickly - about 3 weeks. A letter to Australia will cost you 15 rupees - unless you put other things in it like a present or a photo, then it could be more.
Just take it to the post office, you can buy envelopes there too - but make sure to send it 4 weeks before her birthday just in case! If you take the letter to the post office they will sort it all out for you, just write her address on the front of the envelope.

Go to a Post Office & send the letter. If you wish to send the letter using Registry Post, I guess you will be charged around Rs. 30-40.
