With Christmas over I am getting ready for the New Years celebration. I am getting the confetti, party hats..,etc. We usually watch Dick Clark New Years on ABC(I hope he is better so he can host the show longer this year). We also eat both black eyed peas and greens for good luck for the new year. I was wondering if anyone had any traditions for New Years and what they usually do on New Years.

I go to a different restaurant each year with my husband on New Year's Eve. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but the rule is that it has to be somewhere that we have never been before. We even went out of town once just to try a specific restaurant.

Since all our chrildren have been working on New Year's Eve, all our grandchildren come our to our house & we celebrate by watching movies, eating cold shrimp (we have shrimp only on holidays). Each child is allowed to pick their favorite cold cuts & cheeses and we order a deli tray. On New Years dayn the grandkids are picked up and taken home for a few hours. Toward the evening everyone comes back here and my daughters & I will fix a New Years dinner of either lasaunga or ravoli & whatever we feel like cooking.

Well we generally have a family get together for dinner. Something thats been going on since I was a child. I found some other interesting customs that are followed round the world on New Years ... you can check them out at http://www.123greetings.com/events/new_year/info/around_the_world.html
