I live in Athens Greece, here they celebrate New Year just as much (if not more) than Christmas so next weekend will also be a long holiday weekend, also the weekend after that - Ephifany (6th January and 12th day of Christmas) is also a holiday here and celebrated, so we have two more holiday weekends to come yet, then Crhistmas will be officialy over. After that carnival time the month before Lent begins so the kids will dress up and go to parties and roam around the streets in fancy dress, then Lent and only AFTER that will the Easter celebrations begin.
Happy New Year to you all!

Would you believe, saw some Easter Eggs in the shops whilst doing Christmas shopping.
Have just had to pop in the local shop and they were selling Christmas goodies - already for 2007 - far too early, or do you think they were left over from 2006 - mmm, maybe, just a thought, ha, ha.

Right here! I'm in Ohio. We already have 4th of July fireworks for sale! (and no I'm not confusing them with new years' ones, those went on sale before Thanksgiving)
