The other day I was working and my heart started beating really fast, almost fluttering and it was like they were heart palpitations.

I am thin and healthy and only 19. Back in high school I remember a few times when I was really anxious or nervous this happening.

Is this normal or should I be worried?

It hasn't happened since, and it rarely happens. What could it be?

It doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Heart palpitations when you are nervous or agitated are not unusual. However, the heart is such a vital piece of equipment it's not worth taking any risks. If you are at all concern consult your doctor. It's worth it to be on the safe side.

You probably have a minor heart murmur.

go to the dr. and let him check it out. If you have done drugs, do drugs, or smoke cigarrettes that could cause this.
