Anybody else who should even be considered for the award besides LT and Drew Brees?

LaDainian Tomlinson is the most OUTSTANDING player, where as Drew Brees is the most VALUABLE player.

The Saints are not even close to making the playoffs this year without Drew Brees. You could make the argument for Tomlinson too, but the Chargers have a solid defense, and Michael Turner is a great player to have as a backup.

I mean you could throw other names in there but none of them have a shot at it in reality.

Drew Brees doesnt have a shot at the NFL MVP anymore simply b/c of his last 2 games, against the Redskins he was awful and against the Giants he didnt light it up. LT is having the absolute best season for a RB in NFL history all around, although he didnt score a TD in his last game he still gained around 125 yards. The guy is ridiculous and he has already ran away with the MVP award.

Ok to touch up some things...Brees has not already won it and I GUARANTEE he will not win it. It WILL be LT hands down.

Second who the hell said Vince Young? He has been awful this year by the numbers. He has the second worst passer rating, he has the worst completion % among QB's, and his TD to INT ratio is 12-11. Sure the Titans have won some games lately, but its b/c of their defense and a solid running game, anyone can come in after Kerry Collins and look amazing. VY wont even win rookie of the year, much less EVER be considered for an MVP. If you actually watched the games and looked at his stats you'd see that he has been highly overrated all season and that the Titans D has been tough here of late, again VY has been pathetic in comparison to every other QB in the league with the exception of Vick.

The award should already be engraved with Tomlison's name. I am not a San Diego fan, but am definately a LT fan after watching him play this year. The level he has set, and his talent to play, is well above the rest of the league, not to mention that without him, his team would not have been where they are. Hands down LT is the NFL MVP this season.

Its hands Down L.T. there is no one in the league having the type of season he is Drew Bree's is having a Carree year but L.T. is has broken many records this year and is almost single handily taking the Chargers to the Playoffs yeah say all you want about Shawn Marrmin but Schobel leads the league in sacks and i bet half of you dont even know who he is

The kind of year L.T. is having is a once in a lifetime year. Not his lifetime. The lifetime of the league. Don't be surprised if the records he sets this year remain in tact long after we're gone. Some one who says other than L.T. for MVP has never watched the game. ... either that or they ride a short bus to school.

Shawn Merriman, linebacker for the Chargers.

Just watch the man in action; his presence impacts the opposing offence more than any other single defensive player.

Peyton Manning is awesome to watch, as always (see the game against the Bengals); but I believe Merriman's impact on a game has been greater this year.

No disrespect, but I think the only runner in this race is LaDainial Tomlinson. No one can be considered besides him, yes, Brees has been playing good, but he doesn't have L.T.'s caliber

I would go with Tomlinson. He so awesome to watch. He runs over and away from defenders. He has great moves, Barry Sanders like. He's in the process of becoming the first player ever with 30+ TD's in a season. He should walk away with the trophy.
