I tend to get very painful ingrown hairs, followed by very painful razor burn. I tried chemical removers a few times, and the burned my skin- in one case, even ate away patches of my skin.

I'm "Au natural" now, and much happier- and pain-free.

If you are talking about the hair in your private area then be careful. If you have never shaved there before and you want to shave it, then make sure that you shave the way your hair grows.

For instance, when you shave your legs, you go against the hair. When you shave in your private area you shave the same way that your hair grows. If you shave against your hair, you can get a lot of red bumps and they hurt. I did that the first time that I shaved down there.....oooouch! It hurt for a long time and I also got ingrown hairs down there...they hurt too. It is better if you have it waxed.....but that hurts too if you are not used to it.

Just be careful with what ever you decide to do. Good Luck!!

I shave down there. You have to be very careful. It would be better just to get it waxed by someone else. I don't live anywhere near that so not an option. If you are not sure about that yet just trim and shave the top area to get an idea if doing more is what you want. Yes it does itch while growing back. However it doesn't itch too bad for me. If you don't like it, it does grow back. Worth a try.

I know you said girls only but guys do this too. It looks great on women and weird on guys. In both cases, expect itching. Best advice: trimming up down there is great for sex, female and male. I suggest trimming down to about 1/2-3/4 inch of growth. Gives a nice, fuzzy look and doesn't get in the way during sex. Shaving clean is a pain in the crotch for either party and a waste of time. Hope this helps. Please don't get offended that ignored your girls only request, just thought I had something relevant to say. Peace and happy new year. P.S. If you take my advice, avoid electric razors(As a woman, you probable never had your head shaved. Electric razors can nip you, and down there that has to be painful.), go with a very short pair of scissors.

I personally think you will feel better. I just feel nicer and cleaner. I also have always hated that disgusting term "beaver" but I understand where it comes from. It also makes you more in touch with your womanhood. Most younger women are shaving or waxing.

And I do recommend that you wax rather than shave. Shaving can cause irritation and itching. It is also not nearly as smooth as waxing. Also waxing lasts a lot longer. It intially does hurt a bit more than shaving-but well worth it.

I used to shave there. It gets all rough and grows EXTREMELY quickly so you'd almost have to shave it daily. If you go against the grain you'll get these realy itchy nasty looking red bumps. And as soon as you stop shaving it'll get realy prickly and when it grows back it'll be straight and not curly.

Good luck!!! It didn't help me any but maybe you'll like it!!!! :D

Depending on how you shave you might nick yourself and get an infection. Otherwise, I don't think anything happens. Nair and waxing are better, but you have to be careful with that.

You will certainly feel a lot cleaner down there. The only drawback is that once the hairs start to grow again, you will itch like crazy!!!

all hair when shaving will just grow back. it may get a little itchy at first but not a big deal.

when you shave your vaginal pubic hair, all that happens is that you get a nice looking bald p_ussy. i dont know about most guys but i like it bald. it looks much cuter than an ugly hairy c_unt. it might itch a lil but........ittl stop as soon as it starts growing a lil. and, it gets cleaner than if it had hair
