Reasons
1) it is not a good practice to behead all previous head of goverments
2) during saddam regime, the region had better stability than current government.
3) iraq used to be better place to live with saddam as president

do you think world nations including US and UK should preasurise iraqi government to give saddam a better judgement, as the current judgement seem to be derived from saddam hate without having a wider view of the situation

They are not planning on beheading him, they are planning on hanging him.

He was a dictator, not a head of government, he WAS the government.

Yes, Sadam kept everything in control, but he did it with terror and mass murders. If you watched the trial you would see that he is being tried for using mustard gas on a whole village of people.

Iraq was not a good place to be when he was in rule, his sons raped women and had their husbands killed, Sadam let them do whatever they wanted. Sadam was not afraid to kill anyone that wasn't completly complacant with his dictatorship.

If he were to be exiled, it would leave room for him to make a return, besides I dont know of any modern societies that exile people. Where would you exile him to? He would just come back. The people of Iraq did not even believe his sons were dead until pictures of their corpses were shown all over newspapers and tv worldwide.

Sadam's trial was aired world wide to show that the trial was fair. Sadam walked out on many occations and stood up and started screaming.

Sadam has killed alot of people, would you want to exile a serial murderer? He would come back or just kill other people.

India ?! Are you kidding ? You have no idea of Indian politicians.

Being from India, I am ashamed at some of the decisions Indian politicians took. We were very friendly with Iran and had a deal for a huge gas pipeline. When US showed us some false nuclear carrots, we stabbed Iran in the back and voted against Iran. We were very friendly with Saddam also. Saddam liked India and Indians. There is even a town in Kerala where they literally worship Saddam. Russia and China were more vocal about their opposition to US invasion than India.

Our politicians can, have and will do anything for power and money. You cannot expect anything more from them. It just does not work.

Capital punishment could be reserved for serious intentional crimes. Saddam ought to of used his powers for the best yet he's evil in suggestions. He has no be apologetic approximately for his strikes and could grow to be outraged and contact the unfair card while he's placed head to head for his crimes. hundreds of people had their lives decrease or scarred by using fact this guy headed a regime that introduced submission by way of terror against his very own people. dying is particularly a favour for him by using fact the wages of sin will pay is dying (Romans 6:23) so via dying Saddam would have paid for his sins and be sq. with God (no longer saying he gets the present of eternal existence) although this could furnish little interior the words of a lesson to different despotic leaders interior the international it somewhat is going to show that no-one is an untouchable and can be extra to justice.

I'd say india probably has its own issues to deal with.

Freudian slips aside, I felt bad when I heard Saddam's conviction, because capital punishment just doesn't make any sort of sense to me. How is death a punishment? Surely prison would be far worse
