I have a 99 honda prelude with 140k and i treat it like my baby never rag it or curb check it but just recently as i was driving to work on the freeway i was going about 70 mph and i started to feel a vibration on the gas pedal when i pressed it at those speeds and on my steering wheel too, it sounded like a clunkin noise but when i slowed down below like 60 it just stoped its weird because theres times it doesent do it at all. At first i though it was the cv joints but people tell me those you usualy you hear when you turn and if you did they would make noise all the time. A mechanic told me that it could be the engine mounts but im wondering if it could be something else other than the mounts or tires. its starting to get worse on the freeway when i hit those speeds and its weird because it only does it when i step on the gas at like 60 or 70 when i let go it stops. Does any one with a mechanic background might know whats going on with my car with what i explained?and any suggestions

Most likely it's wheel misalignment or tire inbalance but could also possibly be that at 70 the aerodynamic behaviour causes resonant vibration (this is the least likely). If you pop it up to 80 does the vibration disappear again?

I trust Kathy A. the possibilities that the vibration has something to do with something however the tire, wheels, brakes, suspension is slender to none and that i think of none grabbed the quantity 4 bus the day previous to this. i know while my tire began to vibrate at highway speeds it grew to become into because of the fact i had a broken belt in my tire. It grew to become right into a good ingredient that i replaced it rapid to because of the fact my uncle informed me while he had a broken belt in his tire it broke around a corner reason the burden of his s10 shifted and blew out the tire, he then rolled his effective little truck three times right into a wheat field. So i assume im undecided what this is yet odds are its between the flaws reported via myself or kathy A. the two way thats your traction and besides braking and guidance is the via a techniques the main extreme ingredient on your motor vehicle so i wouldnt play around with it and attach it asap. playstation my vote for terrific answer is going to Kathy A

Im pretty sure Its the tires.
Replace and Balance the two front tires
if you have the money just replace them all
that way they are all even and therefore you will have a smooth ride.
If your tires are good then maybe you just need an alignment.

your tires may need to be balanced..some times your tires dont all have the same amount of air in them. so i'd say go get them checked have them balanced and make sure they have the same amount of air in them. maybe try and get a wheel alignment. I did the same and it worked for me...cost around 80 bucks but it worked good luck

Time to rethink your reasons and agendas for owning personal transport, pal.
Four-wheeled s**theaps are meant to do all those things once the showroom shine has worn off.
Motorcycling is the only way to go, my friend. Change that Prelude rubbish for a CBR1000RR, if you must have a Honda, or something similar if brand loyalty is not an issue. 120kph? Phooey! You will be as smooth as silk at double those speeds on any modern motorcycle. Dare to be different!!!
