It's totally up to the Family. All U.S. Presidents are intitled to a full National funeral. Even Richard M.Nixon was intitled to a full National funeral, but the Family decided to keep the Funeral somewhat 'low key' by keeping it at the Nixon Library, thus he never did lie 'instate', only in 'repose'.

I just heard the news too. Sad. Are us night owls the only ones who know so far? Wait till the rest of the nation hears it on the morning news. Yikes. Poor guy. Yes may he truly rest in peace. I think he will sit in the rotunda and get the gun salutes and all that neat stuff honoring his military and Presidential office and service to our great nation. God be with his family in this time of loss and our prayers are with you all Ford family.

I was one of those people who just hated him for pardoning Nixon and now I am so grateful that he was our President during those terrible post-Watergate years. He was such a good man. Thank you President Ford for all your years of public service and may you rest in peace. Take our love and our prayers with you and may the angels usher you into paradise.
