The questions alludes to a state that should be but is not - i.e we somehow think that it is not very right or good that brothers are killing brothers.
The bible describes such discordance as the effects of sin.
Sin corrupted what God intended when he created Adam. So instead of harmony, there is now disharmony, both with nature and with each other.
I only posit this view because you brought up Adam and it would follow that an explanation from the same source should be acceptable to you.
Frankly, though, I am sure that even now, there are those who insist that certain 'humans' could not possibly have shared the same ancestors as us. And so it is ok to enslave and kill them.

Because we are humans. Separated by miles, language, religion, and culture. The one thing that the primat.. er humans have in common is that everyone believes that they are right, and that everyone else is wrong.

Adam could be a reference to more than one man and Eve more than one woman. If so then the Adam and Eve theory starts to make some sense.

Then when eve had all her babies all the brothers and sisters had it away and had more babies
some babies were mammies boys and some were daddies boys
