Absolutely not! Especially if you live in a dense urban area and do not own a car. Taking a taxi is absolutely much cheaper and easier than owning a car. I am an auto enthusiast with five cars. Frankly, accept for collector cars (which are not really practical transportation) vehicle ownership is money ( a lot of money) down the drain. You are choosing the smarter option.

Well, it depends which way you look at it. If a grocery store is close by, walk! If you take a taxi to the grocery store, and it is in walking distance, that's kinda silly. Depending on the weather.
Walking is very healthy. I walk everywhere I go. If its really far, I take a city bus. The city bus is $1.25 per ride. $2.00 all day pass. $40 for unlimited monthly pass. A taxi in my town starts off at about $2.50. If I go to the grocery store that is in walking distance, it is only $3.80 ( yes, I will take a taxi if its pouring rain ) My favourite grocery store is a $10 taxi ride one way, or a $2.50 bus ride, there and back.
Thats in my town though. I do not know where you live!!
My children go to school in a taxi when the rain is really really heavy. ( The school is an 8 minute walk away ) Below freezing they go in a taxi, same with super-wind!
Driving cost money, we know that. But after insurance, gas etcetera, taxi's and bus is cheaper. We all can save a little money, whether we need to or not.
** On the other hand, it is nice to jump into your car and just go! But you can pre-book a taxi to be at your door so you can just go!
You will save a great amount of money using the bus.
You will save money using the taxi companies.
You will be in shape if you walk! Costs calories, not $$$
Cars need maintenance and repairs.
You're not responsible for taxi repairs!
NOT ALL TAXI'S SMELL BAD! ! !
No insurance payments if you dont drive.
Hope this helped!! It is a personal choice for you!
:o)

If you can afford it easily - no. However, if take a taxi from one town to the next and pay the driver $57 because you didn't want to pay an extra ATM charge at the bank in your town, that would be stupid.

It depends on how much drugs and drinking you do. That's why Paris Hilton was better taking the taxi and her parents shouldn't have bought her a vehical.

No with gas prices the way they are you cant afford to drive.
You don't have to find a parking place.
You don't have to pay car insurance.
You don't have to pay for repairs and maintenance.
On long trips you can rest till you get there and leave the driving up to driver.
