I have several 2x T12 ballasts and one 2x T8 ballast
they seem to both take 48" bulbs

is one more effecient than the other? or give better light?

what is HO? as in T12HO? would it be high output?

thanks

The T12's are the standard old fluorescent lamps, about 1" in diameter.

The T8's are about 5/8" diameter and are more efficient.

both bulbs will work for a while on either ballast but the will burn out quickly and stress the ballast shortening its life also.
ho is a high output and generaly used in cold places. t8 and t12
bulbs dont light well around freezing temps
