it doesn't matter how many properties you have. You have a dollar amount that you would like to achieve $1800 a month. You just need to make sure that you have a positive cash flow on your property and try to make your goal of $1800. It could be done with 1 or 2 properties or it may take 10 or more.

one if it is paid off and a nice place. If it is for retirement you should want hand free investing. A Land lord is just a part time job.

All you need is 300k and 7% to make 1800 per month. Heck you can have 650k in a bank saving account and get that.

You did not put your age down and other such things. I would guss with SSI a paid off house and a small nest egg you will be OK or be able to work at Waly mart and wave.

Best of Luck

Prctically speaking it depends on your budget and what kind of property are you looking at Commercial or residential. Commercial will give you better returns when compared to residential if you take the rent into account.
anywhere in India, commecial properties will give you an average of 9 to 10% return today whereas a residential property will give yo an average return of 5 to 6%.
Again it every bui;ding in the country is different and every seller is different. It depends on various things.
