All the USB ports on my computer are taken up by devices. I need to purchase something so I can connect my new Epson Stylus Photo RX580 printer, plus my iPod, and digital camera all at the same time using high speed USB ports... Right now, I can't connect them all at the same time. I'm tired of unplugging one just to plug in another. What kind of product should I purchase? Thanks for your help!

Wow thanks but I don't need to "slow down" my PC is already three years old and it's already SLOW enough. Well really, it's not that slow, but I do a lot of photography and I just like things to be convenient. Go move to North Korea or Antarctica if you'd like things to be "slow".

Yes, USB hub.
It will plug into 1 of your usb ports on your computer and give you more ports (usually 4) to plug stuff into. A powered hub is better than non powered, as a non powered one must take all its power from the 1 port on the pc. Make sure you buy one that is USB 2.0, not 1.1. USB 2.0 is way faster, and most things are 2.0 today and benefit greatly from the speed increase. It is backwards compatible with usb 1 devices also.

If you only have two USB ports in your computer you will need to install a new USB 2.0 card in your a PCI slot found in the back of the computer, as a camera will not work from a hub, nor will an iPod.

You could always try a hub, but some devices need to be powered in order to read. Why do you need them all plugged in at once, it would just make sense to unplug the camera or Ipod when you are done uploading and downloading.

Get a USB hub at any computer store. It allows you to plug multiple items into a single pc USB port. Just plug one end into any USB port on the pc and plug all your gadgets into the 4, 6, or 8 ports on the hub. Easy and not too expensive. Maybe $20-$30?

External USB Hub.

I like the External ones cause you don't have to reach to the back of the computer most of the time to hook up your equipment. Though you might want a USB-2 Port, which goes inserted in motherboard of your computer.

Get a USB2 hub. But it also depends on whether your computer has got USB2 port. If your USB port is only 1.1 then the hub speed will also work at 1.1 even though you bought a USB2.

You need to slow down. Technology doesn't anticipate users interface to be torn to shreds with stuff when only the important ones should be plugged in, but here's the thing...your caught in the technology world and flooding your pc with crap half the time. Nevetheless, from what I have learned in Telecommunications, you can purchase what I call splitters or Hubs that allow extra plug ins. Hope this helps.

You could simply switch the objects on the same port. You should need to have only one of those at a time. It will also save you money so you don't have to buy anything special.
