God destroys the earth, sun goes haywire, nuclear war between US and Russia, atmosphere breaks down, aliens attack, weathers go crazy, comet strikes earth, core of the earth stops spinning...etc.
Maybe the question im asking is: what "end of the world" movie seems most realistic to you? The Core, Deep Impact, Day After Tomorrow, Independance Day, whatever....

The earth itself may go on for a very long time, the question is how long it will be able to support life. The most threatening natural phenomenon (barring collision with a comet or asteroid) is that the sun is heating up, and has always been heating up. The sun's temperature increases by 30% every billion years. In about a billion more years, the sun will be too hot for life to exist here.

These are just movies and movies they"ll remain. The earth u live on is here to stay cuz God made it for purpose. Let me ask u a question okay. If u spent 7 days none stop workin on a very unique equipment that u absolutely adore, would u like 4 someone to just smash it to pieces right b4 ur eyes? I don't think so. The Bible also tell us in Psalm 37:29 that the righteous will reside on the earth forever. It's all left wit u if u're going to survive armagedon so u can enjoy life without evil on paradise earth(Rev. 21:4) read this and reflect ur life upon it. Take care

I think that (in spite of religious, scientific and so on opinions) the Earth is not going to end, since this Earth is a dream created by our thoughts. When men/women/children think something, this idea becomes true and 'real'. The energy of our thoughts (desires, passions, dreams ...) can make his world and human beings be for ever (in a good way, or viceversa). On the other side the force of our love can create infinite new worlds.

At the rapid rate of global warming...
When the last human draws a struggled dying breath.. the temperature will be too hot and steamy for humans to exist.
Not quite sure what movie could co-relate to that hypothesis.
Scientifically when the sun supernovas the earth will burn in a fiery mess.. humans will be long dead before then.
In a morbid kind of way.. it is actually quite beautiful when you think about it...
An end to misery, death, pain, and most of all uncertainty.

I think that Earth is going to be struck by a meteorite or it will end due to the destruction of the ozone lair and global warming.

today i heard on the "Science Friday" podcast that the earth is more likely to be hit by an asteroid than a person is to die in a plane crash
and looking for asteroids isn't even a priority of NASA

In a bout 4 billion years, the sun will die, thus we die. And as if to rub it in our puny faces, the earth's core will cool in a bout 10 billion years. We're toast.
