I didn't say I could not understand it. I'm getting it actually. You just have to listen and choose to learn it.

Actually...the question should be more like "why do Southerners and native Floridians hate Miami" since Miami and the rest of South Florida is virtually "New York City South".
Being Latino, helping out a fellow Latino isn't the problem. It's just dealing with similar NYC attitudes of sorts because most people that live down there came from somewhere else (besides Cuba) and most of them are transplanted New Yorkers (even though you do have a siginificant Chicago population).
If I had to move down there, I'd rather be in Palm Beach County

I am jealous of your weather and I am sorry I do not swing that way. Us northerners speak to Hispanic people all the time. Funny thing is most of them can not speak Spanish either. Have no fear Hispanic people live here too, foolish man.

I love Miami, and I don't have any problem with the hispanic populaton... what I hated were all the transplanted New Yorkers who were extremely rude, as if tourists had no right to be there.
The only other thing I didn't like about Miami was its shallowness... it's all about looks and money and flash. It is cool to party in, but I definitely wouldn't want to live there.

The last time I was there, about 80% of the trees were chopped in half, and power was out, almost everywhere I went, for weeks. Many homes were destroyed.
It's hot as Hell all the time, except possibly for a brief period during the winter. To survive, people stay indoors and end up paying huge electric bills.
In your first sentence, you seem to imply that one who does not understand Spanish is stupid. Then you say that you don't speak Spanish. Hmmm. :-)

now I love miami. Casablanca intrigue and I don't think all Northerners hate Miami. That's so stereotypical thinking.

They are jealous of how nice it is here and that we can have fun all year while they huddle in their home because it's too cold to go out and play.
