Are you invalid? If not, then no. Being in a marriage means that you are equals. Why can't you make your own coffee?!

Why does SHE have to make the coffee anyway? Did you break an arm? I make my husband's coffee at night before bed and set the timer. I do this for him because he works hard all day to make the money to buy the coffee. I am fortunate to be able to stay home and not work anymore. My children are grown so my time is pretty much my own. The least I can do is make his coffee. However, if you both work (in or out of the home), take turns and neither of you should grumble. There are so many more important things in life, pick your battles.

This is a good question~! Kinda makes me laugh!
Well my x-husband always demanded I make coffee...but not only that...demanded everything else. Ofcourse I grumbled.
With my new hubby now of 7 yrs. I make coffee but w/o grumbling bc he doesn't demand it or anything else. He makes coffee many times too and cooks and helps clean house. Why should I grumble? I assure you, I am very happy.
Have your wifey read your ? and these answers...I'm sure she'll get a kick out of it or kick you...LOL! Do more things for her & you will see a big difference...

May God Bless you both with love, joy & good health.

Are you one of those stuck in the 1950's 60's guys who think a wife is not much more than a slave and the man is the king of the house? If so you need to adopt a different attitude. But If that is one of few things you ask of her then no she should not grumble.

the wife should only make the coffee if she is out of bed first, and is a coffee drinker. otherwise, the husband should make it... without grumbling.

It depends. If she's making coffee for herself anyway, then sure, why not serve husband a cup?
But if it's an ongoing, "Wifey, get me some coffee. Wifey, do this. Wifey do that", then you can expect a whole bunch of grumbling and a lot more, and rightfully so.

I don't think there is a man on the face of the earth that would not warrant a cup of coffee. From GwB(as much as I hate him) to Saddam hussein(I hate him too) this is a simple act of kindness if the man is a coffee drinker. btw, I have even made coffee for the man that stole my gf. Does that make me polite or stupid?(that was before I shot him ofcourse)
Hell, I've even made coffee for myself(the man I probably hate most in my life).

Sounds to me like this is an unblance in perceived power, marriage is about respet, your wife shouldnt have to make coffee for you in the morning if she really doesnt want to, should she want to make you coffee in the morning she wouldnt be cranky about it, though who isnt cranky in the morning before coffee. however I would perosnally suggest and automatic coffee maker that will turn on by itself in the morning and you both dont have to do anything in the morning. however back to the issue, if you think thats its the "job" of the woman to make you coffee, you have another thing coming, your wife is not your personal waitress, and she wont be making you coffee if you make her feel that way, instead should she make you coffee, or go out of her way to do something else for you, say thank you and make sure that she knows her contribution was appreciated. if she knows you truely enjoy and appreciate her efforts she makes towards you, she will be more likely to repeat the gesture in the future.
